HEALTH EDUCATION AND MENTAL SUPPORT PRE-CIRCUMCISION FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OF MUHAMMADIYAH STUDENTS BASED ON 'AISYIYAH HEALTH MOVEMENT (Hibah RisetMu Batch VI Tahun 2023)
Health Education and Mental Support for Pre-Circumcision in Muhammadiyah Elementary School Students, conducted under the auspices of the Hibah RisetMu Batch VI in 2023. The study is based on the Aisyiyah Health Movement, a community-based initiative aimed at promoting health and well-being among Muhammadiyah students.

Health education and mental support is one of the health promotion efforts. This pre-circumcision health education and mental support is carried out by three Elementary School 1, 2, and 3 Muhammadiyah In Pontianak. Activities carried out on 21 February, 22 February, and third March 2023.
The purpose of this health education and mental support pre-circumcision is to increase the knowledge of school-age children about circumcision and how to strengthen mentally or build mental readiness before circumcision.
This activity is a programme of the Muhammadiyah Research Grant (RisetMu) Batch VI 2023 with the Community Service scheme, whose implementation is in collaboration with the Pimpinan Cabang ‘Aisyiyah (PCA) South Pontianak, West Kalimantan. Ketua pelaksana kegiatan ini adalah Ns.Tutur Kardiatun,M.Kep, anggota Ns. Dinar Wulan Puspita, M.Kep, Ns. Surtikanti, M.kep, Panji, Aryan Roshandi, Kholifah Nur Adila, Salsa Nadira, dan Larasfika Qori Amalia.
Circumcision is the process of injuring the genital organs, so this causes fear, especially children and eventually refuse to be circumcised. Mental problems such as fear or anxiety felt by children are certainly not expected to be experienced and if there is it lasts for a moment because it can have an impact on the child's mental unpreparedness when circumcised. Pre-circumcision anxiety stimulates the autonomic nervous system resulting in increased blood pressure, heart rate and respiration rate. High heart rate and blood pressure aggravate the cardiovascular system and increase oxygen demand and heart work so as to strengthen the pain stimuli received because anxiety causes pain inhibiting substances cannot be secreted.
Many research showed that there was an effect of deep breath relaxation techniques in improving mood, thus reducing stress levels, heart rate, and salivary cortisol levels. Deep breath relaxation technique based on the results of the study is a technique that is easy to learn (<10 minutes) and effective for use at all ages, especially children aged 5 years, and effectively reduces anxiety or fear before circumcision.
Health education about circumcision and mental support is important for students in elementary school because generally this age is often planned by their parents for circumcision. Elementary school age is able to receive and remember information, so this health education and mental support effort has a positive influence on the mental readiness of pre-circumcision children.
